Addisson Salazar received his Doctorate in Telecommunications from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain, in 2011. He has been a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications, UPV, since 2007. His research interests include statistical signal processing, machine learning, decision fusion, pattern recognition, and graph signal processing algorithms. In recent years, he has been the scientific leader of major research and technological transfer projects that involve big data. He has proposed solutions for different and challenging real-life problems such as neurological dynamic behavior; modeling for the diagnosis of epilepsy and sleep disorders; non-destructive testing for construction material quality evaluation and detection of flaws in nuclear power plant steam generators; and automatic credit card fraud detection. His publications comprise more than 100 papers, which include peer-reviewed journal articles, patents, book chapters, and conference contributions.
