Fayçal Djeffal was born in Batna, Algeria, in 1975. He received the State Engineer degree in electronics, the M.Sc. degree in electronics, the Ph.D. degree in electronics, and the Habilitation degree from Batna University, Batna, in 1998, 2002, 2006, and 2007, respectively. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Electronics, Batna University. He has published more than 110 journal articles and conference proceeding papers, two book chapters and one book on the nanoelectronics and soft-computing. His research interests include photovoltaic devices, nano-and microelectronic modeling, soft-computing-based modeling, and software design (PSPICE and Cadence). Prof. Djeffal is a member of: the Scientific Council of the Institute of Electronics, International Association of Engineers and the European Materials Research Society from 2007 to 2009. He is a referee in some technical journals and conferences such as Semicon Sciences and Technology, IEEE Trans On Electron Devices, and Nanotechnology. He is an Associate Editor for the Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering and the World Journal of Condensed Matter Physics. He was the recipient of Honor Awards from Batna University in 1998 and 2008, the National Award for Best Scientific Publications in 2007, the Best Paper Award in MADICA 2010, the TWAS-AAS- Microsoft Award in 2010, Marquise’s Who’s Who in the World for 2009- 2011, Marquise’s Who’s Who in Sciences and Engineering in 2011 and the Shoman Award for Engineering sciences in 2011.
